Colchester’s new Digital Forum wins two construction awards

The Digital Forum on Queen Street has picked up two awards at the Constructing Excellence Essex Club Awards.

The team behind the development were recognised with Building Project of the Year and Conservation & Regeneration winner .

Horizon Construction Group and Inkpen Downie Architects and the Daniel Connal Partnership, all based around Colchester, played key roles in the project which has transformed a complex historic site into an ultra-modern business hub for the digital companies and freelancers.

University of Essex celebrates inspirational business innovations

Groundbreaking partnerships that are revolutionising industries around the country have been recognised during the University of Essex’s Celebration of Innovation.

The annual event highlights outstanding collaborations between Essex academics and businesses, charities, or organisations that have led to new and innovative ways of working.

Njord Offshore claimed the Best Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) award on the night for their commitment to developing a turbine warning system.

University of Essex in UK top 20 for driving innovation in business

The University of Essex is once again in the UK top 20 for using research to drive innovation in businesses, charities and public services.

Essex became the first higher education institution in England to work on 50 active Knowledge Transfer Partnerships. It also celebrated success in the UKRI AI & Robotics Awards, where the team won the Best Demonstration Award after showcasing their work to revolutionise the agriculture sector by applying their expertise in robotics and AI.  In a demonstration of its breadth of scope it also held an AI Summit for a variety of public services.
